Amazon Workspaces

Amazon Workspace is fully managed Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) that enables you to offload a virtual desktop environment to the cloud. This means you can create and define a consistent company workspace, where users simply download and install the Workspaces Client and then simply use it as if it was on their machine.

Workspaces support Windows and Linux desktops (sorry no Macs, yet).  Workspaces are deployed within a VPC and you can control the logins with active directory. No actual user data is stored on the local drives instead its similar concept of EC2 instances with EBS network drives.  This helps improve the security of user data which reduces your risk.
